Be a central resource of information by collecting data, tracking STEM activities, and providing reports and ecosystem events that support career connected learning in New Jersey. This initiative enhances the STEM ecosystem in NJ and contributes to workforce development.
Our Community
The Greater Newark STEM Ecosystem (Newark STEM, or GNSE) serves the region surrounding Newark, New Jersey, including the counties of Essex, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union, and Warren. By understanding the work and activities of our cross-sector partners (our 'shareholders'), we co-design an educational support system that fosters Career Connected Learning and cultivates STEM and Career Ready Skills. This approach increases the likelihood that all students will become workforce-ready, joining the community as STEM literate citizens.
Newark STEM is part of the broader New Jersey STEM Ecosystem, which consists of community-based collaborations aimed at transforming how students engage with learning and prepare for future opportunities. These initiatives unite cross-sector partners—schools, afterschool programs, colleges, businesses, community organizations, and government agencies—to create impactful STEM learning experiences in STEM NJ.
